Working on this commission with Renfrewshire Council working with the Primary School has been an absolute delight.
I developed and delivered drawing workshops with pupils from the school. Working in small groups we made a sculpture from foraged nature and used different drawing games to experiment with form, colour and texture, exploring the schools values of kindnes, respect, growth and sustainability.
I loved working with Finni during the art workshops. I’m usually not very confident with art, but Finni made me very comfortable. She allowed me to experiment with different styles of art and particularly liked the part when she timed us to see how much we could draw. I also love Finni’s wallpaper design for the new classrooms. The colours are beautiful and very calming.
P6 pupil – Primary School
Josafinni was selected to design the internal art work for the school’s new modular classrooms. The selection process involved children, staff and parents. We all loved Finni’s designs and also the way she interacted with the children. Finni followed the design brief perfectly but also added in her own style which resulted in an outstanding finished product. Finni ran workshops with children and used their ideas in the designs. She communicated well with staff and always ensured we were happy with the direction she was taking. Finni was able to stick to the very tight timescale and had the final pieces finished in time for consultation and for any changes to be made. I would highly recommend Finni, not only for her excellent artistic skills but also for the way she interacts with people of all ages.
